Undergraduate students and master's-degree candidates are invited to apply for the National Geographic Award in Mapping. This award recognizes student achievement in the art, science, and technology of mapping and seeks to encourage student research.

On Tuesday, Feb 9th, CBC correspondent Stephen Puddicombe visited AVC to talk about his connection to Haiti and what he witnessed on his recent assignment there following the January 12 earthquake. Those in attendance were very moved by what is going on in Haiti, which encompasses both incredible greed and incredible bravery.
On Jan 16th, Middleton hosted the Second Annual AVC First Lego League Competition.
On Nov 18th, CoGS hosted a group of students from SMU.
